In 1933 after prohibition was repealed in the US, many people persistently supported prohibition. Counties in some states continued prohibition within their borders.

And so the DRY COUNTY was born….

Even now folks cross county lines to ‘wet the whistle’ legally. 10% of the area of the US is subject to prohibition. Surprisingly Moore County Tennessee, the home of Jack Daniel’s Whiskey, is dry.

When Bo Higgs and Jake Hendrix began working together on Bo’s original songs they agreed the name Dry County reflected both the old and new influences in their sound.

Nothin’ Ever Changes

Bored faces in brand new places….

“Nothing ever changes; all it does is get rearranged.
No motivation, no inspiration.
Jack up the promo when thoughts start to go slow….”

— Bo Higgs

Aboriginal Version

You are what you're made of

You are a distillation of your origins, your family tree, your aboriginal version —even your boogie man.

Don't try to escape it - just embrace it - it's what made you who you are.

Jake’s diploma in Jazz and Contemporary Music from MacEwan University along with his influences: Bahamas, Eric Clapton, Zeppelin, folk and alternative music, give him the uncanny ability to respond to Bo’s original and complex compositions.

Whether it is a call and response or an original riff, together they hit on the sound Bo intended when writing.
Bo and Jake reside in Kelowna BC
